Tidbits from the film world

Slide, a planned film written and directed by R.H. Greene will feature Jimi Hendrix being accidentally kidnapped by the two main characters. Hendrix teaches his kidnappers about honesty, and they help him have a clean life. The movie will not feature any aspects of Hendrix’s life, not even a piece of music. Talk about using a hook to get viewers, eh? Luckily, there’s also a biographical Jimi movie being made, by the creator of It Might Get Loud. Hopefully, someone will get it right this time.
In other not-so-news, Hollywood continues to shit on its customers and the general public. Here you can see two new movies that will be released soon. Its like they are having a contest on who can make the worst product.
For all the LOTR fans:

Peter Jackson has announced that they are casting unknown actors for the role of Bilbo Baggins, and has promised a 2011 release. He told Collider: “Nothing has changed as far as I am concerned…You don’t want to believe everything you read on the internet. We were due to deliver the scripts and be shooting sometime around April and now I think I said in an interview we were shooting in June. And somehow people are now saying the film is delayed. As far as I am aware, they are not delayed at all. I am not even sure when we are going to start shooting…we are delivering the scripts just after Christmas they’ll be finished and we’ll be shooting as soon as we possibly can.”

James Cameron’s AVATAR, the most overhyped film ever to exist, continues to show scenes throughout the media. He has promised to deliver the most realistic CGI and 3D experience ever. With a budget of over $500 million dollars, AVATAR will probably fail to deliver, because its story is the most generic thing you can ever imagine. (Believe me, I’ve read the leaked script.) Cameron went over-budget, and had to pay some of it from his own pocket. He also approved the use of “Papyrus” as the font for the logo… Are you serious, James? Is this MS-Word or what? Check this scene out and judge the CGI yourself.
It’s a sad age for Hollywood.
