The Amorphous Androgynous cover Oasis on new Mojo cd. Download here.
I’ve read about this crazy psychedelic band in Mojo several times over the past year called The Amorphous Androgynous who covered “Falling Down” by Oasis and stretched it into a 20 something minute long, 4 part, freak out opus. Read about em but never heard em, 99% of people in America don’t care about music, let alone weird music. So when I realized that at part 1 of that Oasis cover (around 4 minutes) was on the new CD that comes free every month to my PO Box with my Mojo magazine (thanks to a very amazing Buddyhead reader who knew exactly what I wanted for my birthday last year, aside from when they threaten to kill me via post cards I have the best readers in the world). Yeah this months free cd is called “Mojo Presents A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Head” and features songs from Dugen, Can, White Noise, Betty Davis Ed Askew, Shogun Kinotichi, Comus, The Yellow Moon Band, Pop Levi, Donovan and Amorphous Androgynous did an original song as well.
Great music to high too. Although I can’t say I’m into all of this shit, I will testify that for the most part it’s all pretty solid. I mean, not only did I get to hear some new tunes from some favorites (Donovan, Dugen, CAN) but I got turned onto a few bands I’ve never heard before (Amorphous Androgynous, July, White Noise, The Yellow Moon Band) AND it was free. I love that price and considering the times, it’s a safe bet you love it too. Thanks Mojo.
