So what’s this knob do? By Justin Pearson.

(Telling it like it is?)

I don’t get live DJ culture. Excuse me if I’m missing something here, but I don’t see anything interesting in watching one or two cats at a mixer with Serato on their Mac bob their head up and down to x amount of beats per minute. You know the drill. We have all seen that crap… Boring. Yawn. Snooze fest. Now, I think artists labeled as DJ’s, such as DJ Urine, Otto Von Schirach, or Rahzel’s JS-1 really bring it on so many levels. That is some interesting, if not that, creative stuff. Look, I’m not being a poop and talking shit like a lot of the naysayers who commented on my previous blog post suggest I am doing, or have so graciously done to to me. But I’m just stating my opinion, and that is of which I can’t wrap my head around things like you tube footage of thousands of people being so into such a run of the mill, if that, “live performances”. I would want to see live music, and appreciate the talent that goes into making thus sounds, if I paid to get into a venue or festival. I know, I know, I’m just some faggot who surrounds himself around good musicians since I possess little to no musical talent, as I have been told in my previous blog here on Buddyhead. You are right, I can’t DJ. I mean, I have great taste in my opinion, and I can play rad stuff and mess with programs like Tractor. But man, I am part of the working class and well, if I’m paying for something happening live such as music, it better be the real deal. For all I know, some of those cats are checking their email and or ordering pizza on line. Today DJ AM died. Sucks for him. I’m being serious here, friends, it really does. I’m not all that familiar with his work, but I do and can appreciate him working with a live drummer, such as Travis Barker. Yeah I know, Blink is one of the biggest turds in modern music (again only my opinion, I’m sure there are plenty of people who can “prove” me wrong), and he presents himself as sort of a douche in the public eye, but that dude is a solid drummer which in a sense, ads to a pretty impressive live element for DJ AM, who is sick in his own right. So this is just a simple blog to say RIP to that guy.

(Now i know that anyone can DJ… with help from my friend Gabe who is holding a monitor and is about to toss it into a loaded crowd.)
