New Roky Erickson record soon + Youtube toy store weirdness
Self proclaimed alien Roky Erickson has a new album called “True Love Cast Out All Evil” coming out on Anti on April 20th 2010. Yeah, I don’t know how bad we need a new Roky Erickson album either but at least it’s coming out on 420… but the reason I have hope for this project is the producer dude (Will Sheff from Okkervil River, who I guess are the backing band on this record too) has gone and picked twelve rare songs from Roky’s back catalog for him to record for this record. So it’s not a bunch of 2010 penned Roky songs… if you’re not a poser you’ll know a few of these songs like “Please Judge” and “Johnny Lawman”! It just might be good, fingers crossed! That’s the cover above. The photo is by Todd Wolfson.
