Sounded like our homeboys in Girls have been busy writing some new tunes that might be as good or even better than their smash singles “Hellhole Ratrace” and “Lust For Life”. Take a peek at the frail country-ish “Oh My Love” below that Chris claims was inspired by the one and only Dwight Yoakam and he wishes it would be adapted by Taylor Swift. Now that’s about as punk as his Bad Brains tattoo. But then again after the “boner as a microphone” version of the “Lust For Life” video, Girls can’t really do any wrong in our book. That was RAD! “Oh My Love” will be on their second record (which they claim is recorded and coming out before the end of the year!) which I’m hoping is going to be a lot better than their first. And I wanna clarify, when I gave “Album” a mediocre review it was out of love. I only meant that it didn’t meet the expectations of the previously mentioned singles. I felt that it was thrown together under pressure. Hey man, I still own it. I didn’t sell it for weed.

Aside from touring everywhere, breaking both male and female hearts along the way, recording a new album, Girls have also contributed music to a gay hardcore short film called “I Want Your Love” (Ted & Jameson are gonna be downloading that tonight to check it out mark my word), directed by Travis Mathews. In the interview below Mathews is the serious dude who’s sitting down with Owens asking him about his love for Suede (a question we wanted to know since we saw their first press photo in the bus), hooking up with dudes, punk rock and being in a band called Girls. Great interview Travis, killer name too. If we didn’t think there’s be confusion between you and me (same first name), we’d ask you to write for Buddyhead. Oh and the Girls new song below RIPS! High expectations for album number two from these Northern California dudes. Party on!
