I think your argument against us here, instead, made something of an argument FOR us, in the sense that we here actually will comment back to you guys (the readers, for whom we are ever grateful, even when they are misinformed kneejerk Thalidomide holdovers, like yourself…), as we are actually interested in your feedback, and are happy, more or less, to respond.

But, what do you expect from that response, DOUBLEVISIONQUEST? Complete capitulation? A Charles Barkley-esque “I was misquoted” in my own article thing?

If you look back on the very small amount of articles I’ve written here (so far), I’ve, yes, rescinded a few certain things I’ve said in article, based solely upon the responses of readers like you.

To Jacko, 20m was petty cash in his Neverland eyes.

The payoff to go away was do-able and would make it all go away instead of him being dragged through the mud (even if he is innocent).

He lived in another category of money than most. . . he did not see 20m as something he could not generate somehow with his background, if needed.

So to make such an assumption or presumption is not fair in my opinion. . . He was weird and did weird shit but maybe, just maybe, he did not cross the lines as charged civilly – remember, as w/ OJ the standard of one grain of sand over the 50% preponderance as required is much more easily attainable than the criminal jury instructions of beyond a reasonable doubt.

Innocent people and companies in proportion to what they can afford settle matters all the time. Jacko was not sitting at the 2 or 20 or 200 or 2000 or 20000 blackjack or baccarat table – his limits were much higher so the 20m view is true for what most of us experience. . . but he was hardly in our category personally or financially. This is not to say he was innocent, it is only to say that the settlement is not proof of guilt, by any means, it his case and perhaps most cases. That is why, generally, settlements are not admissible of proof of guilt in courtrooms in America.
