The newest UNKLE record, “War Stories”, fuckin’ rules. If you haven’t bought it yet, do so now. And if you haven’t seen em live yet, make sure you do when they cruise through your area. I was lucky enough to get to see them three times this summer in Europe (some photos here) and I’m going to get to see them twice more when they play the Echoplex in LA (26 Oct) and Vegoose in Vegas (28 Oct). Super fan I guess. Either way, I can’t fuckin’ wait. Check the new video for “Hold My Hand” which is one of my favorite songs (the other one being “Morning Rage” which I posted last week) and the video for their first single “Burn My Shadow”.Fuck yeah man.
This should be called "The Soulsavers with Mark Lanegan", because the Soulsavers were already a group before this record. Aside from the lack of his name in the title, Mark kicks ass on this record. You’ll find his voice on most of the songs that make up "It’s Not How Far You Fall, It’s The Way You Land", which is one of the best records I’ve heard that’s come out this year. The past few weeks, it has been my "Sunday Morning" record. Plus, their Stone’s cover ("No Expectations") fuckin’ kills! Hit their website for upcoming tour dates, news and anything else you could possibly want. http://www.thesoulsavers.com/
According to his website, it looks like Dicky Ashcoft finally stopped listening to his massive ego, pulled his weird looking head out of his ass and dialed up Nick McCabe and said "let’s get the band back together mate!" Fucking finally dude… music is power Dicky and the best music you made is BY FAR with The Verve! This means two things that are both music to my ears. First… NO MORE ADULT CONTEMPORARY SOLO ASHCROFT RECORDS! WOO! Secondly… THE VERVE ARE MAKING A NEW RECORD AND ARE GONNA PLAY SHOWS! SHIT YEAH! Yep, the original line-up (Richard Ashcroft, Nick McCabe, Simon Jones and Pete Sailsbury) were back together (first time since they broke up in 1999) recording in a London studio last week. After a summer break, they will return to the studio to complete their next album and then in November they’ll be playing some live shows in the UK. Who’s flying me over for that? Any takers? Anyone? Here’s the deal… you fly me over for the shows and I’ll buy beers for us at the shows as well as the tickets to the shows which go on sale on my birthday July 6th. See, it’s fuckin’ meant to be.

Radiohead posted some short clips from their seventh record on youtube. As usually they’ve made it pretty cryptic and you can’t really tell what the songs sound like cuz the clips are so short and jumpy, but what the fuck else are you doing right now? Check it out.
Just the other day I was wondering what Triumph the Insult Comic Dog was up to because I haven’t seen him On Conan lately. But look, here he is reporting from the red carpet at the 2007 Tony Awards. Words can describe how funny I think this dog is, my sides are slightly hurting and my eyes are watering after watching this clip, the end really has a pay off… you might wanna stick around for it.

In case you haven’t seen this one… here’s Triumph nuking Bon Jovi. You give poop a bad name!
The Black Keys just put a 4 song live EP out for free on the internet that was recorded during their fall 2006 tour and it’s pretty fuckin’ awesome. But let’s be honest… if it’s free, it’s me. Here’s the down-low on these four smokin’ tunes…

Yeah yeah, I know… way too much Queen of the Stone Age shit on here lately. Someone even nailed me on it here in the comments of the last QOTSA post… But, in my defense… I’m a really lazy person plus i’ve been really busy lately doing really cool shit (can you say BIG SUR?) and let’s face it chumps… Bulby fucking rules man. "Shut up, grow up & turn it up!" I haven’t even heard the album so I can’t tell you much about it, but what I can tell you is I’m ready to party with this dude Bulby. The guy wins. "Count me in!"
Here are three videos I found of the small show Queens did at 100 Club in London with Mike from Wire On Fire on bass. Not the best sound of quality but hey man… that’s youtube for you. I’m Designer
BRMC will be playing the Wiltern here in Los Angeles next week on May 8th… I can’t wait. Check out this sneak peak thing their label made of them playing a few songs in what looks like a rehearsal room and the video for "Weapon Of Choice".
I don’t get the IFC Channel but from what I’ve seen online the Henry Rollins show looks pretty killer. Here’s BRMC (from what I’m guessing was last year) being interviewed and playing a song off their last record HOWL. These dudes are on tour now. Go see em. They rip. Tour dates here.
I got an email this morning from a dude named "Mike Long" with the subject "Dancing, full time. Me dance. Funny youtube. Help a brah out." When I opened the email it said something about how he used to read Buddyhead back in 99 when people cared about it. After that he asked me to post this video of him dancing here on this page because needed his parents off his back and he knew I’d understand. Well, dude… I don’t understand… I didn’t even get all the way through this video of you dancing cuz I haven’t had my coffee yet but I’m posting it anyways because you sound fully insane and I don’t need any more insane people not into me. Cheers. Hope you all like this Canadian dancing to Amy Winehouse. Fun fact: all Canadians know each other… I swear. Two Canadian posts in a row too. Killer, eh?
So I went to Coachella on Friday to DJ with my friend Troy "Boy" (Petrey) in some weird dome from 2:00pm til 3:30pm. Not too many people cared aside from about 60 hippies who got high way too early but it was really fuckin fun (despite the 110 degree weather and our sun burns). Plus they gave us a killer trailer with AC and a toilet that Danny DeViteo used (I made sure to tell him he was killer on the view), got to drink free beer, watch The Jesus & Mary Chain kill it (aside from that unnecessary actress bullshit) and harass Jarvis Cocker and tell him how cool he was. Woo! Yeah! Anyway I’m fuckin’ tired so here’s Nardwuar trying to interview Krist Novoselic of that band Nirvana on his radio show in Canada. Oh, and you might wanna buy the new single from The White Stripes called "Icky Thump" on Itunes. Aside from the weird Indian synthesizer solo shit it’s killer. And if you can find "No Girl In My Plan" by the Two Lone Swordsmen, but that too… they told me to take it down.
