So the posers over at MTV banned this new Brass Tax video not because of the drawings of veiny cocks it features but because the 9 year-old star of the video is shown eating pills till she’s full… Go figure! You think they’d be into that sort of thing considering that instead they’ll be probably be running re-runs of Jersey Shore that feature Snookie, The Situation and Turtle-Neck Jake hoovering blow, raping chicks and overdosing on spray tan… which is TOTALLY a much healthier message for the youth of today to gobble up.
Once again Buddyhead benefits from someone else’s lameness… This time it’s due to MTV (which although it used to stand for Music Television, apparently it now means you’re gonna see shows with drunk sorority sluts potato sack racing for Hondas hosted by that fuckhead Aston Kutcher) lack of music appreciation and yep we get to WORLD PREMIERE this new Burke Roberts joint. Hope you dig it. I was too lazy to interview Burke, so I just copy and pasted our email conversation below to kinda fill up this page and make it look like I did something for once. Zing! Boom!
Buddyhead: What’s the deal with this video you made for Brass Tax?
Burke Roberts: So apparently some folks at MTV were actually into this one, but of course the content wouldn’t pass their ratings board. Granted if you freeze farme at the right spots there are 1960′s comic drawings of chix sucking veiny cocks… But they didn’t even notice that. It was the fact that I show a 9 year-old girl eating pills. I guess that’s their target audience these days… So no big surprise.

If you don’t know much about Brass Tax, read up…
Brass Tax is the creation of multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter, Jada Wagensomer. An accomplished musician, Jada also plays bass for Dante Vs Zombies, sings in Jail Weddings, and is co-musical conspirator toBaby & Guy (along with Matthew Polley).
This current incarnation of Brass Tax is composed of Lowell Abellon, Brian Watson and Alex Myers (both inWatts Ensemble)- all of whom Jada met at a hot air balloon jousting convention in the summer of ’09.
When able to find time away from the 3 bands she inhabits and her hypnotherapy practice, Jada likes to compose music for Brass Tax, The Dumbheds (a Frank Zappa / Fugs style doo-wop group), and Baby & Guy. She also occasionally performs with her omnichord under the performance art moniker STREETROBE, and is currently working on a full length musical about the splendor and mundane-ness of absolutely nothing.
