That Metal Show Interviews Axl Rose

That Metal Show > Axl Rose part 1

Wow… Wow. That kinda sums up the video above. Its been a while since Axl Rose has given us a TV interview. And for the record, my interest in Axl Rose is kinda like Lester Bangs and Lou Reed. Even when Axl sucks, Ill pay attention. I think its because Appetite For Destruction was the first album that was mine so to speak. 1987, I was 10 and Id never seen anything as crazy, exciting, dangerous or rockin as the Welcome To The Jungle video. I even remember where I was standing, in my tighy-whiteys staring at a small black n white TV in my parents kitchen. I was in awe of the awesomeness and I’m pretty sure that imagine of Axl Rose getting off that Greyhound with the straw in his mouth is the reason that I moved to Hollywood myself seven years later. So despite how embarrassing Guns N Roses has become or how goofy Axl dresses, I will pay attention.

Now check out this leathly interview Axl Rose recently did with those Virgins from That Metal Show on VH1 with his Hot Topic poser guitar player DJ ASSba (who looks like he should be in Poison instead of Guns N Roses) in tow. And in part two you also get to hear from Bubblebutt (aka Bumblefoot), one of the five current guitarists in Guns N Roses. Its hard to believe that the dude you see here in these goofy shades and hat talking about how he does cardio is the same human as the Axl Rose we saw in the Welcome To The Jungle video. Hey Axl… call Izzy, Slash, Duff and Popcorn… NOW! Time is a wasting!

D.J. kicks major ass during the live shows. I've seem him a few times and have yet to see him make a mistake on guitar. Total pro all the way to the bank as are the other players. I've seen Guns at least 24 or 25 times, had the pleasure to see them 6 times from the front row. That being said, the current line up is far superior to the original lineup as far as having more solid chops go. The 3 guitars make a huge difference and the music is created by each player playing their own piece to collectively build the music as opposed to just playing the song straight up. i LOVED the old lineup and the songs will never be replaced, but Chinese Democracy is a creative masterpiece. I'm psyched these guys are on the road rippin' this shit out.

    Excellent interview… Thank you!
