Because of the wonderfully beautiful cluster-fuck that is Sunset Junction being canceled, all the bands that would be playing in the middle of Sunset Blvd (not to mention blocking traffic completely and basically making it an all-around-bummer to live on the east side of LA that day) are now all scrambling to get a slot at a real club. Actually they pretty much all have already scrambled and landed with places to play… but they were scrambling the past few days I was just too lazy to write about it, plus it seemed like everyone else was so on top of it I wasn’t really needed if you know what I’m saying holmes. But now they’ve all got shows lined up in clubs and bars… you know, places you’d actually wanna see a band play! Nobody wants to see a band play in the sunlight, sorry. FACT!
Well, not only did we luck out with the Junction being cancelled but we lucked out twice cuz now the two only good bands that were set to play that mess (no I’m not talking about Hanson you twit) are now playing together at The Echo on Saturday. Booyah! Hey El Cid… How’s it feel getting fucked by the big dick of The Echo? Might wanna check out how a real venue does shit. If you wanna read more on how El Cid rips bands off and doesn’t care about our local music scene then click here for that. Please post your thoughts about those bad people who run El Cid in the comments or if you work there you should get to posting about how I’m a liar and all that cuz it’s super funny to me. Long story short, El Cid is a shitbox venue that likes to rip bands off and because of their shady practices and lack of knowledge in the area of good music they will be going under soon. Watch!
Anyways, back to the music and 400 Blows… The Blows are my favorite heavy band in Los Angeles (yes I like them more than Chinese Democracy Guns N’ Roses even) and they have a new album coming out called “Sickness & Health” on 08/23/2011 but you can stream it RIGHT NOW in full over at some lame website called “Metal Sucks” (I already busted Skot’s balls over why they didn’t stream that shit on Buddyhead and to make it up to me he’s not only putting me on the list Saturday but giving me a physical copy of the record that night too so we’re all peachy again), click HERE to here the new tunes! Be warned, they fucking rip!
CLICK HERE TO ORDER THE NEW 400 BLOWS ALBUM!

What we do have that exclusive here at Buddyhead though is a FREE mp3 off the new record for you all to download, check that shit below. Also down there is a link for you to buy tickets to their show on Saturday with Butthole Surfers. Hopefully I will see you fuck ups there. I saw Butthole Surfers last year and they were still amazing. FYI, psychedelics are highly encouraged. Bring some to share too!

Also on Saturday (08/27/2011) is 400 Blows Record Release Party @ Vacation Records (maybe you remember that place from the LA Weekly story I did on them? If not read that HERE) which is located at 3815 Sunset Blvd LA,CA 90026. Aside from being able to buy the first pressing of the new 400 Blows record, you’ll also get to see the band play a FREE set (sometime between 1pm and 6pm – hey that’s what the band told me… and it’s free dude) in the store and there will be DJs from bands you should like if you’re not a poser. Like… Chuck Dukowski (Blag Flag), Gabe (Locust/Retox) & Zane (Killing Spree).
