Oh what a surprise… the same greaser who thinks Oasis was actually something more than skid mark on the holey underwear of the 90’s only likes the Radiohead from said decade.

Well, I hope you already sold that great marketing idea to the same desperate marketing people who jump from windows right now because it LEAKEDZZ again. CVS: Buy one Xanax, get one Radiohead free. Considering the consumption rates of Xanax in the US the album will be a major seller then.

Good to know at least someone out there is as 30/70 about Radiohead as myself as this is considered blasphemy usually. Never really blew me away. This is good background music for the laundromat. Or for typewriting 475 pages of your doctoral thesis. Actually my favourite Radiohead song is ‘Creep’ still. Bang!

I misread “Beach House” as “Best Coast” and was about write this long screed about how you’re balls-to-the-wall crazy, but then I noticed you didn’t so I simmered down. I agree with your review, by the way. Thom Yorke and Radiohead have been blowing pretty hard lately.

Don’t know what you are talking about with the fanbase line at the end – most fans I know loved the last few records including this one so I don’t get that. If you mean Thom is out of touch with the people who still long for the old sound then yeah thats right, cause thats the ‘old’ sound. I get what you are saying though – if you enjoy the older records more you probably won’t dig this. I kinda like it but then I think I like the sound of ” early nineties down-tempo early morning sun coming up rave music”… that sounds cool…

    • I honestly believe that OK Computer was their climax. I really do. I’ll also say that it seems to get harder and harder to instantly like their albums like I used to, but I almost find it gratifying once I do. I’ve been listening to this album for a week now, and I’ve started playing Little by Little, Lotus Flower, and Separator on repeat for the past 3 days. Background music it might be, but I think if you do a few times enough something will click.

  6. This doesn’t feel like an album to me, some songs are just throw away (Feral, Give up the Ghost), but the others are really excellent. Would of been better if they dropped a couple songs and labeled it an EP. There is some speculation that this is a double album.

This sounds like Thom’s solo stuff. Not bad, but not as good as what is usually released as Radiohead.

  8. I wanted to like this record, I really did. But I can’t. And I’m someone who liked everything radiohead done up to, well, now.

  9. Brian Mietz says:

I listened to this 4 times. It’s really, really, really boring each time. Really boring.

  10. i like the show king of queens better than i like the king of limbs

Am I the only one who thinks this is the first part for some concept album? I guess it doesn’t really matter after listening to this, I really don’t feel like listening a potential second part…
I don’t understand what happened to these guys, I just feel like they lost whatever made them an interesting band a while ago. I can’t help but feel like they should disband and try solo stuff again maybe it will renew their love for music.

  12. Ryan Chavers says:

Maybe they’ll do a follow up album that’s nothing but guitars and heavy drums and shit, and it’ll sync up with King of Limbs to form a bad-ass Voltron album that’ll make your ears bleed.
A little optimism never hurts, right?

  13. Andrew Ropke says:

So this ponse of a reviewer reckons 2 albums from Oasis is worthy of the kind of praise usually reserved for the guy who invented the wheel. Couple of facts this dipshit should know, the words ‘slide’ ‘sunshine’ and ‘fly’ have made up appox 97% of the Manc twats high school poetry since 1994, ALL noel gallagers solo’s sound EXACTLY the fuckin same on every single song and always come in at around the same time too. He has not explored any kind of change in musical approach for around 15 years resulting in coked up dog turd self indulgent banality, check out anything he’s written beside ‘Married with Children’ and ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’
As for Radiohead, do you want us to all point and laugh at them becuase there new album/EP is quite obviously wank?
Better to just agree that it dosent stand up against their previous work rather than making a whole comparitive review based around the fact that ‘Creep’ isn’t all that good in retrospect.

  14. Rick Warner says:

Who knew the last song was the best one? I haven’t been able to sit still long enough to get that far.
