Got this Yuck 45 in the mail from Fat Possum (home to RL Burnside, AA Bondy, Dax Riggs, Digital Leather, The Crocodiles, Wavves and now T. Rex – every record cept “Electric Warrior”) a couple days ago. It’s pretty cool shit, I love getting free cool shit in the mail. KEEP IT COMING LABELS!
Yuck is American shoe-gaze rock that sounds a lot like records that came out in the 90s by bands from Britian plus one of the dudes has a MASSIVE afro (see above and below) so they get bonus points for being weirdos.
Dueling Male and Female vocals, fuzzed out guitars and mad props to My Bloody Valentine, Ride & all those other bands. No new ground charted here, but it’s still pretty cool.
