Frodus Get Back (together, that is)

Frodus put out some of the most blistering music that most people have never heard. After a couple great records and a biblically bad run of luck, they disbanded.

A decade later, some of their old catalog is being re-released on vinyl and actually still sounds relevant. Shelby Cinca and Jason Hamacher talk about their unlikely reunion and pairing with Liam Wilson from Dillinger Escape Plan, with whom they’ve recorded a 9 (?) song new EP to be released on Lovitt Records this year.

Let’s hear them tell it:

Some good shit:

i saw them at the velvet elvis in seattle around 1999 on the tour that was supposed to feature refused. it wasn’t a bad show though the capitol city dusters, 90 lb wuss, and botch all played. they placed a mannequins head on a cinder block in the middle of the stage and the bassist pointed right at me and told me to stare at the head the whole show and so i did. and then after that the singer of 90 lb wuss pointed a butterfly knife right at me while he was doing his “being scary with a butterfly knife” routine. one of the weirdest experiences i’ve ever had at a show.

I’m happy about this too, but… drumming gloves? Nooooooo!!!

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

The crux of your writing while appearing agreeable initially, did not work perfectly with me personally after some time. Someplace throughout the paragraphs you were able to make me a believer unfortunately just for a while. I however have got a problem with your jumps in logic and you would do nicely to help fill in those gaps. If you can accomplish that, I will surely be amazed.

With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement? My website has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any ways to help protect against content from being stolen? I’d definitely appreciate it.
