Buddyhead VS First Aid Kit – First U.S. Tour

As a contributor to Buddyhead I am bringing good and bad music to the table to praise or put down but I’ve seen it as part of my job to not push the same bands all the time, in that effort I force myself to give everything a try. With that said, my friend Olivia played a Fleet Foxes cover by these two Swedish sisters (this is how it was pitched to me) recording themselves in the woods on a some cheap digital camera. I was blown away, I thought it was better than the original and the girls had some real talent. Then Olivia played their music videos and told me they’d been signed to the Knife’s label Rabid Records back in 2008 (obviously short lived judging by the contact info) and I’ve been living under folk-country deprived rock. I saw that the girls were doing their first U.S. tour and Los Angeles was the first date so I figured it would be cool to get these fairly new musicians on camera being cocky, talking about how fucking awesome they are. After some humble, honest answers and down to earth conversation, like their Fleet Foxes cover, I was still impressed and glad to have met them.
