I love the Icarus Line, and I love Buddyhead, but did you see the part about executive producer Mickey Madden? That means Maroon 5 money paid for this. Is that awesome, or is it not awesome? Buddyhead please revive your Maroon5 album review from the past for this occasion.

I went to the afterparty at Les’s house after the Icarus Line opened for the Distillers and among those in attendance was Jason Mraz. I swear to god.

If you look closely at a bunch of cool records you’ll see Mickey’s name. He has been involved with Vietnam, Historics (Don Devores band), TIL and the upcoming Giant Drag. While M5 isn’t standard buddyhead fare, Mickey knows more about great records than most people in bands with psyc indian feathers on their shirts wearing indy cred like a badge of honor. The history books will show this.
