Once again, I’m totally fucking right. Fucking weird, right? Yep, our Lord and Savior himself, Noel Gallagher, has ditched his douchey methed-out younger brother cuz let’s be honest… Liam is a full-on dickhead, Noel writes all the good songs and he can sing circles around Liam anyways. This week Noel told this crappy newspaper they have in the UK called “Daily Mirror” (which resembles toilet paper more than it does news paper) that he was looking forward to releasing music of his own now that he was free of the band’s shackles. Homeboy also let loose on a few other things we found interesting. Check it out below.
“I’m looking forward to doing my own thing, bringing out my own music, I’m glad that’s what people want to hear. I am not thinking about much else, Oasis or Liam, I’m just having a good time.”
As for the meth-head brother and man responsible for the worst song in Oasis’ catalog, “Little James”, Liam Gallagher recently said that he too would continue to make music, and just like Noel not under the Oasis guise either, as had previously been rumored. Thank God. Now Liam can make a total ass of himself and not ruin the Oasis legacy while Noel drops hits like a fat man drops shits. It’s gonna get good!
When we first got wind of the Oasis split, we were naturally bummed out that one of the world greatest rock n’ roll bands was gone. But now, we’re honestly stoked on this news! First off, once the band lost Zak Starkey (Ringo’s kid who SLAYS on drums for The Who) and got that guy who played drums with limpwrists, they were never the same. In fact, the last time Oasis came through I was super baked, had two giant draft beers and they were still down right BORING! They really peaked (for the second time) at “Don’t Believe The Truth.” It’s a shame more people don’t recognize how fucking good that album is. Their last record, “Dig Out Your Soul” was good… but it just didn’t have songs anywhere near as good as the ones that appeared on “Don’t Believe The Truth”. I could tell you more about it if you want.
How’s it gonna be live, you ask? It’s gonna be fucking killer, I’ve seen Noel rip solo already. Yep, when Noel came through LA to promote Oasis’ greatest hits record called “Stop The Clocks”, he debuted half of their awesome black n’ white movie “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” and then played a flawless set of Oasis songs he sings (like: “The Importance of Being Idle”, “Cast No Shadow”, “Don’t Look Back In Anger”) as well as a hefty set of classic Oasis B sides (like: “(It’s Good) To Be Free”, “Talk Tonight, Fade Away”, “Half The World Away”, “Don’t Go Away”, “Slide Away” & “Married With Children”). Liam might have a “cooler voice”, but Noel has a much,much better voice. Dude didn’t miss a note the entire show, he was on fire! My brother Noel totally killed it and I’m pretty sure he knew it too. Gem was next to him playing lead guitar shredding people’s faces off with his solos and even using this badass organ they had with em.Download “Sittin Here In Silence Union Chapel 26.12.2006″ below, it’s pretty much the same set I saw in LA, but done a few weeks prior in London. Shit is SICK! And way better quality and song selection than the official live solo record “The Dreams We Have As Children”.
Afterward, we stalked Noel back to the Liquid Kitty (a bar in Santa Monica), cornered him and asked him everything from What drugs did you take? How much? Are you still high? Is that really your guitar player and your drummer doing rails out in the open in the bathroom? Do they always act like that? Isn’t your drummer in The Who? Have you met Ringo? What’s your favorite Stooge’s song? Wanna do a shot? What’s that one pedal you use? Noel loved me nerding out on him I think and I was allowed to nerd out cuz earlier that night I’d experienced one of the best shows I’d ever seen. I can’t wait for Noel to come back through town again so I can stalk him. Noel: Yo, man… I promise this time we won’t end up at the house of any members of Maroon 5 or Phantom Planet… it was an honest mistake, bro!
And as for Liam, I’m convinced that watching him is gonna be fucking hilarious. Free entertainment in these times is just what the doctor ordered. None of us can afford TV so it looks like we’re just gonna have to follow Liam’s life on the internet for shits and giggles. It’s the small things, kids. I think this shit is gonna come off a lot like a 1980′s comedy style movie featuring Chevy Chase, Vacation era.
So yeah, that’s my argument for why it’s actually awesome Oasis split up. I’m sure that you dickheads who for some reason don’t understand Oasis yet (you’ll get it one day kids, trust me) totally thought that when Oasis broke up I’d stop writing about them, huh? Wrong!
