Everest are on tour with Wilco and Neil Fuckin’ Young. Plus we’re going to see OASIS TONIGHT!
That’s my close friend, Mr. Fred Sablan (who plays in Goon Moon with Chris Goss and Jeordie “Twiggy” White, as well as DJs with Jeordie and I at The Bar on Wednesdays when he’s not tour-managing rock bands out on the road with Neil Young) in the photo above on the right and Jason Soda from Everest on the left. Even though the band is from Los Angeles (just like myself) I’ve never seen Everest play, I missed their free Ameoba show by 5 minutes, but their record “Ghost Notes” is really growing on me. So while I’m stuck in LA again trying to trick people into buying some limited prints of my photography so I can eat food, Fred is out busting balls ala Peter Grant style (the road has hardened the man), watching Wilco/Neil Young kill it every night, most likely getting more action than a stuntman from hot Wilco fans, smokin’ joints with Neil Young and “The Dude” at Neil’s ranch and just all around “livin’ the dream.” Yeah kids, don’t let em fool you… life is NOT fair.

Speaking of Neil Young, go buy the new “Sugar Mountain Live at Canterbury House 1968″, it’s Neil Young just a month or two before the release of his first solo album.. he’s shy yet even way back then, he fucking roooooled.
And for the record, Mojo knows what’s up… they named Dennis Wilson - “Pacific Ocean Blue” the #1 reissue of 2008 in the issue with OASIS on the cover. Gregg Jakobson is actually in the studio mixing the “Holy Man” (London Version) which features Queen on it as well as Taylor Hawkins and it is really fuckin’ good (and I’m not even a Queen fan, too dramatic for me dude). Hopefully we’ll see that as a single or on an EP soon.
Speaking of Oasis… Twiggy remixed their new single “I’m Outta Time”. Yes, he wins again. And the band liked it so much not only did they make it the bside to the single but they paid him a shit load for his time. Fuck you Jeordie, you shit 7’s and aces. Here’s a youtube video of the remix… just be thankful you don’t have to see Liam in a cowboy hat like you do in the real video. What the fuck was he thinking? That video looks like Kermit The Frog is gonna pop-out and start dueting with him at any moment. Total bummer.

What isn’t going to be a bummer is tonight! All worries will be forgotten for a few hours when Twiggy, Nikolai, Amy, Aaron and I are all pile into a car and head down to the Staples Center to see Matt Costa (Mitch on bass! Fuck yeah dude), then after a 1 minute set change over (which I can’t wait to see) Ryan Adams and finally the greatest active rock n’ roll band on the planet…. OASIS! Fuck yeah! See all of you who like to have a good time with your rock n’ roll TONIGHT! It’s gonna be HITSVILLE! BOOYAH! Ten bucks says they come out to “fuckin’ in the bushes” and go into “Rock n’ Roll Star”. I feel like I’m 15, because I’m actually excited to see a band. The last band I was excited to see was Mudhoney, who Aaron and I interviewed (video of that will surface here soon), @ The El Rey. I think I’m “giddy” about tonight.

I just read the recent Twitter updates and wanted to throw some positive vibes your way. Keep holding your head up, you’ll get through this rough patch. On a more brighter note, have fun at the Oasis concert tonight! I’m sure you’ll rock harder than anyone in else at the Staples Center :)

Dude, it’s “with Jeordie and me” not “with Jeordie and I”; you’re the fucking object of the preposition. At least you don’t spell retarded.

Hey Johnny fever.. I’m into rock n roll, not English class… and if you’re not in the same boat as me you might wanna hop over to dork.com cuz NO ONE GIVES A FUCK
December 6th, 2008 at 8:22 am
Same boat as I.
December 6th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
ummm, actually it is “same boat as me.” By the way Travis, are we going to get a review of the Oasis concert (or is that a silly question since Oasis probably killed it)?
December 6th, 2008 at 11:00 pm
Nope. As I.
December 7th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Liam’s singing flat as fuck in To be where there’s life, is he off drugs?
December 8th, 2008 at 12:02 am
Did someone really post three separate comments regarding grammatical errors on a website about music? Do you ever move your laptop and allow vagina to take its place? (By the way, dude, it wouldn’t be “spell retarded,” you’d need an adverb to modify the verb “spell.”)
On to things that are relevant: I’m bummed to hear that there’s no love for Queen from Travis. How can you fault a gay man for being too dramatic? Isn’t singing a song like “Somebody To Love” as much in the true spirit of punk as Halford making men think wearing leather was masculine? … Or Gayrilla Biscuits?
Hopefully you told Liam and Noel to listen to Definitely Maybe in their spare time. I know Oasis isn’t the kind of band that wants to make the same record twice, but they need to learn how to rock the fuck out again. That shit is getting old and boring like Alkaline Trio.

That Mr. Fred guy looks frightening; like Rollins angry but not faking it. How did Jason get Matrix hands?
December 8th, 2008 at 11:00 am
Where were you when we were getting bi?
December 8th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
Hey Travis, I can’t find a copy of the Text cd anywhere. Looked at Amoeba. Nothing. I’ve tried to download it but only found a couple tracks. Is there any chance at all that you guys still have one? I know it’s probably a long shot.
Funny, I never cared about Oasis until I saw some live footage you guys posted. I gotta say that the end of the tune “Bag it Up” is the coolest part of any song Ive heard this year, easily.

Да это нечто. С этим трудно не согласится, но трудно поспорить. Сколько людей столько и мнений. Удивительная вещь эта жизнь.
