JUBILEE ARE PLAYING A SECOND SHOW IN LONDON TONIGHT

- September 24th -

SPECIAL GUEST DJ MIRA AROYO FROM LADYTRON AND LES GARS

If you don’t live in London, forward this any and all friends you have there that like their rock n’ roll. Cuz tonight @ The Metro in London the best new rock band that I’ve heard in a long while is playing. Listen for yourself… click the “PLAY NOW” button below to stream (and buy if you want) both of Jubilee’s singles “In With The Out Crowd” & “Rebel Hiss”. Remember kids, you can always steal your parents credit card and head on over to Jubilee’s website @ www.jubilee.LA where you can buy all of Jubilee’s tunes straight from the band.

  Play Now

That’s right, Jubilee is playing another show in London at The Metro, TONIGHT! Yes, cancel all plans for Wednesday, September 24th to celebrate the release of the band’s new single, “In With The Out Crowd”, which will be available for sale (yeah, I know, finally - What can I say… they’re losers) at the show way before hittin’ the shops. Our old buddy from Ladytron, Mira Aroyo, will be DJ-ing at the show before, between, and after the bands, and our new buddies from Toronto, Les Gars, will also be rockin’ the dump. The damage to get through the door will put ya back 8 squids. That’s like 16 bucks if you live in American and wanna pretend you’re going. Doors are at 7:30pm & curfew at 11:30pm

You can find these vagabond delinquents at:

THE METRO
19-23 Oxford Street
London
W1

The club’s website is http://www.blowupmetro.com
Webpage for the show is http://www.blowupmetro.com/bandinfo.aspx?id=080924g

Here’s a quick bio for those of you in need of a quick history lesson on who these dudes are and what they’re up to:

Jubilee Nowhere

The march toward Jubilee’s first album began in January with the release of the Rebel Hiss single and a tour of Europe.  It continues in August and September with the release of another single from the LA based band, In With The Out Crowd, and, well, a tour of Europe.  Each single contains three exclusive B-sides unavailable on any other release, including their upcoming album.  Grab each of these as immediate digital downloads direct from the band at http://Jubilee.la.

The derelicts responsible for concocting all of this noise are:

- Aaron North (Nine Inch Nails, Buddyhead, The Icarus Line)
vocals, guitar
- Michael Shuman (Queens of the Stone Age, Wires On Fire) bass, vocals
- Troy Petrey (The Icarus Line)
drums
- Jeff Lynn (Wires On Fire)
guitar, organ

As for the guest drummers on this latest release… (For those just joining in on the action, the band chose to record all of their songs with different “skin-beaticians”) For the “In With The Out Crowd” single they include:

Julian Gross (Liars)
Nick Jago (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club)
Trent Reznor (Well… PROGRAMMED drums obviously duuuude)
Maynard James Keenan (Well… The band made an exception to the rule on this one. Homeboy didn’t play drums, just sang on the song with the really long name

After concluding the tour, the band will mix and master their first full-length album, which will include even more guests on the drum-stool, such as:

Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Scream… yup, him)
Joey Castillo (Queens of the Stone Age, Danzig, Wasted Youth)
Carla Azar (Autolux)
Josh Freese (Devo, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nailsl, eh… everybody)
Kevin Haskins (Bauhaus, Love & Rockets, Tones On Tail)
Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Kyuss)
Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters)

But until then, again… You can catch these guys live at a dump near you (if you live in the land of cod and crumpets), here…

Cartoons are stupid

September 20th, 2008 by Meathead

Hi, I’m Meathead.  Sorry things have been slow around here.  This won’t help, but I thought I’d share this thing that I made.  I know you people are into music, and this has some music in it, so it should be right up your alley.  I’ve been making a series of poorly-animated shorts for my poorly-designed website, and the latest installment is actually based on a true story.  Well, loosely based on a true story.  That I made up.  Sort of.  I don’t really get out much, and I do stupid and useless shit like this to pass the time.  *LOL*

Note: If you’re into the whole subtitles scene, you can turn on the captions by clicking that little triangle button on the bottom right.  Seriously.

Buy from the Rekords Rekords Treasure Chest and help the Natasha Shneider fund

September 1st, 2008 by Travis Keller

On August 16th 2008, Queens of the Stone Age were joined by Alain Johannes, PJ Harvey, Tenacious D, Brody Dalle, Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam (ex-Soundgarden), Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal, and Chris Goss to celebrate the life and memory of their fallen comrade Natasha Shneider. Proceeds from the sold out show at Los Angeles’ Henry Fonda Theater went to deal with medical costs incurred during her battle with cancer.

As a means of keeping the event going beyond that one evening, QOTSA collected a number of signed items over the course of the event, which are currently being auctioned online at the Rekords Rekords Treasure Chest at http://stores.ebay.com/Rekords-Rekords-Treasure-Chest_W0QQcolZ2QQdirZQ2d1QQfclZ3QQfsubZ0QQftidZ2QQtZkm. Among these items are an autographed Troy Van Leeuwen signature Yamaha guitar, an autographed Baratto custom cig fiddle, and several signed commemorative posters. Please check out the items up for sale and drop some coin for a good cause on some very cool items.
