Oh-man-oh-man do I ever love Memorial Day!
I love it cuz I get the day off work so i can… oh wait, I don’t have a real job and I live on a couch and I’m a “struggling artist” or as my dad likes to call me as… A loser. Now that I think about it, Memorial Day totally blows in my book. All it is are BBQ’s full of people you really don’t wanna be around watching football games on televisions. I’m not a big fan of that shit. Which is why I’ll spend today Listing to the new Wire record, sleeping, maybe see a movie and at some point eat Blueberry pancakes with a very attractive female. Those are my only agendas. Yeah, aiming for the fuckin’ stars today… and I’m going to sleep now at 9am.
Like I said about we’ve got a new Wire song to listen to, so I guess Memorial Day 2008 is a little better than the average M.Day I guess . As if our lives couldn’t get any better, Wire (the rock band) are giving their new song away for free on pinkflag.com! Fuckin’ A right? Free music! Hurry before they change their mind! The song is called “One Of Us” from the album “Object 47″, which has a release date of July 7. Buy it from Posteverything. I can’t wait for the the reason of the record…
Once you download this bad boy…. Dime this baby all day because chances are tomorrow you have to go back to your shitty job you hate but allows you the comforts of a bed, your own room and not living on Aaron North hours. Live it up porky cuz tomorrow will be here soon. Might wanna bust out the camera so you can remember what happened.
By the way, what do Buddyhead readers do for jobs? And where do you live? List in the comments please. I must know.
It looka like Wire lost a member since their last record, cuz now there’s only three old dudes who think soccer is called football in their press photo. And it doesn’t look like they’ve made a video for “One Of Us” yet, because when I searched Youtube all I could find was ABBA doing “One Of Us”. Hey guys do you need me to manage you? Come on, ABBA sucks and if they can pull it together to make a video for “One Of Us” back in 1981, then Wire should be able to make it happen in 2008! Get your ass in gear you shirtlifters!
The video cannot be shown dickfore at the moment. Please try again later.
And what the fuck dudes? And are you guys every gonna come back to the US? The last time you guys played @ The El Rey in Los Angeles it was AWESOME. But, It’s been five years! I mean come on… I’ve been to England, they’re aint ANYTHING going on there except rain and shitty food. So get in the van and get over here.
In case you’re a normal person and don’t check random English band’s websites all the time like I do, you might wanna check out “Read & Burn 03″ that they recently released. And if you missed 2003′s “Read & Burn’s” 01/02 and their full length “Send”, buy those from Posteverything.
Wire- “23 Years Too Late” (Radio Edit) (from Read & Burn 03)
Wire – “In the Art of Stopping” (edit) (from Read & Burn 01)
Wire – “Trash/Treasure” (from Read & Burn 02)
Wire – “The Agfers Of Kodack” (edit) (from Send
Another thing you can play with this holiday is Grooveshark Lite. Basically you can instantly stream any song and somehow the artists get paid. I’ll read up on it and explain it all later in a post when I’m not so tired. But for now, just let it blow your mind like it blew Danny Lohner’s…
Start by taking a spin with “1970″ by one of my favorite bands, The Stooges. There is no “Fourth Stooges Record”. That didn’t happened and it’s being deleted from the history books. No more of “The Weirdness” guys. Knock it off, don’t blow the legacy, just play the rad songs you wrote when you were cool and young. But Iggy… I’m never forgiving you for doing that Sum 41 song/video. You and your A&R guy (David Walters) might as well of put out a video of the two of you deep throating everyone in The Spotlight on a Saturday night. Fuck, it was tough trying to tell peoeple you were cool when that song was getting shoved down everyones throats. The only good thing about that was… NO ONE CARED. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
And now I gotta go to bed.
Later dudes and dudettes, enjoy the Wire jams. I have been.
