So I heard that Jim Reid is starting a new band with the drummer from Ride and a couple other dudes. I don’t know what it’s called or what they sound like but I like the idea…. Anyone know what’s going on with those guys or have any other information? Come on, one of you limeys have to know what’s going on… let’s hear it…
So in case you don’t know, Jim Reid was formerly in one of my favorites bands with his brother William called The Jesus & Mary Chain. Those guys put out something like ten killer records, did a whole bunch of cool shit and then broke up cuz they almost killed each other. After that he was in a band called “Freeheat“, who put out an ep (which was pretty average) and then broke up. This song, “Dead End Kids”, is his second solo single, the B side is the Dylan song “If You Gotta Go, Go Now”. I posted about his first single “Song For A Secret” and The Beatles cover he did for a Mojo comp a while ago, HERE.
