Oasis have a rockumentary movie coming out called "Lord Don’t Slow Me Down" that’s based on their last last tour and record "Don’t Believe The Truth" (which I think is tits). Noel’s gonna be at the CMJ screening of the movie for a Q&A, which will be on 11/4 @ 2 PM @ The Directors Guild Theater. I’m kinda bummed, we’re flying home the day before cuz I want to hear Noel talk about how cool he is and how everyone else sucks. Check out this stable of youtube videos from the film. I also included the band’s "new" video (with their old lineup animated) of an old song, "The Masterplan". It’s worth watching if only for Liam’s cartoon strut, which is surprisingly realistic. Speaking of "The Masterplan", I download "Rockin’ Chair" (at the bottom after all the videos), which is one of my favorite Oasis bsides.
Yep, the evil powers that be are finally putting Nirvana’s 1994 movie out on a DVD! Good work dudes, way to step into the future with DVD’s! It’s only been over a decade man and until now you could only find this on VHS and laserdisc. Come on… who owns it on laserdisc? "Hello Golden Shower TV!" Yo Courtney, how about now you put the entire fucking Halloween show from 1991 (there was one song of it on the boxset’s dvd) & the MTV Unplugged show out on dvd… that’d be a good todo-list for starters. Fuck, hire me.. I’ll whip that shit together in no time. Speaking of the boxset… here are some BBC Sessions that for some reason or another they didn’t include. Oh, and here’s the trailer for ""Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!", get into it. Corporate Rock Still Sucks.
They’re making a movie called "About A Son" about Kurt Cobain using interview clips that Michael Azerrad audiotaped for his book "Come As You Are". Which is kinda weird cuz Kurt told a lot of fibs in that book… either way, check out the trailer here. And if you haven’t read Azerrad’s book "Our Band Could Be Your Life" (it’s about The Replacements, Mudhoney, Black Flag,Hüsker Dü, Minor Threat, Sonic Youth, Butthole Surfers, Big Black, Dinosaur Jr., Fugazi & a few other bands), get on it!
As I mentioned here on this site before… I’m really excited about The Cassettes’ record we’re putting out called ‘Neath The Pale Moon. The band just put together a really cool podcast called "The Cassettes’ Radio Hour", which is just what the title suggests it might be… an hour of The Cassettes in which you can hear their entire new album complete with radio static, old time radio commercials and a very authentic classic radio style sounding DJ. The best part is you can download it for FREE and (just in case you’re wondering) the download speed is pretty fast for once (because we’re not hosting it). So, check out their podcast and let us know what you think of it by giving us some feedback in the comments section. If you really dig what you hear you can order the record from Itunes, buy the cd from our webstore or wait till November 14th and pick it up at your local record store (tell em to order it dudes). If you need more of The Cassettes check out their novel sized Wikipedia page… it’s good reading kids. If that isn’t enough reading for you, make sure to check out the "steam-punk" Wiki page. The Cassettes have their upcoming tour dates posted on their myspace page and in addition to those shows, they’ll also be preforming live at the Buddyhead CMJ party/show @ The Lit Lounge in NYC on November 1st, 2006 along with Modwheelmood, Wires On Fire & The PoPo… click here

I filmed these three amazing clips of Mr. Van de Guzman inside a casino (just outside of Las Vegas) on the border of Nevada and California back in 1999. There’s not much I can say to introduce Van other than he’s totally feeling it and KILLS IT with his takes on these three classic songs. But words do NOT do this man justice… you’re going to have to see this talent with your own eyeballs.
If you know Van de Guzman, or know how we can contact him, please email us at traviskeller@gmail.com. We still need to give him a copy of this… By the way, the links below all go to youtube videos. Do it.
So I heard that Jim Reid is starting a new band with the drummer from Ride and a couple other dudes. I don’t know what it’s called or what they sound like but I like the idea…. Anyone know what’s going on with those guys or have any other information? Come on, one of you limeys have to know what’s going on… let’s hear it…
So in case you don’t know, Jim Reid was formerly in one of my favorites bands with his brother William called The Jesus & Mary Chain. Those guys put out something like ten killer records, did a whole bunch of cool shit and then broke up cuz they almost killed each other. After that he was in a band called "Freeheat", who put out an ep (which was pretty average) and then broke up. This song, "Dead End Kids", is his second solo single, the B side is the Dylan song "If You Gotta Go, Go Now". I posted about his first single "Song For A Secret" and The Beatles cover he did for a Mojo comp a while ago, HERE.
